Sebastian Charlesworth
Musical director
Sebastian is a freelance singer, conductor and teacher. After having graduated as a bassoon player from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he primarily focused his career on singing. As a singer he has toured both nationally and internationally with opera companies and choirs and has recorded extensively for Film, Theatre and Television as a session singer and more recently as a conductor, with groups such as London Voices, Vocals Unlimited, Metro Voices and Dynamic Vocals. Recent work has included scores for Danny Elfman, Carter Burwell, Lorne Balfe, John Williams, Alan Menken and James Newton Howard.
As a conductor, he holds the position of Music Director for both New Sussex Singers and Heathfield Choral Society and is invited to conduct other ensembles on a regular basis. On top of his performing work, Sebastian delivers programmes globally that utilise music in various forms in the corporate leadership development field.
He lives with his wife and two young sons in Royal Tunbridge Wells and in his ‘spare’ time enjoys exercising, cooking, gardening and DIY projects.
