the modern choral sound - A workshop
What elements make so many contemporary choral pieces so attractive?
How do some groups get the balance and blend so right and others don't quite succeed?
As choral singers, what can we do to make our, and the audience's, experience of this kind of music even better?
Join us in a workshop on many of the elements that lead to the success of performing music with complex harmony, crunchy chords and ethereal atmospheres. In this workshop, Seb Charlesworth will lead singers through 3 exceptional contemporary choral pieces and work on them through various exercises in blend, balance, tone, tuning and harmony.
Really get to grips with current choral trends and understand the nuances and techniques required to successfully perform modern choral music.

To get the most from this workshop, it is recommended that participants have prior experience of singing in choirs as there will be some focus on fairly advanced ensemble techniques.

The conductor
Seb Charlesworth
Seb works regularly with amateur singers and is praised for his easy-going nature and humour yet demanding the very best from his singers and expecting very high-standards. His passion for music, particularly 20th and 21st century music, and his deep level of understanding of how to get the very best from the singers has seen the groups he works with go from strength to strength.
