the art of ensemble singing
Are you a fan of the sound that you hear from groups such as VOCES8 and Tenebrae?
Aside from the obvious selection of first-class singers, what is it that makes these groups so fantastic?
Join New Sussex Singers' Musical Director in a workshop on how to be a better ensemble singer. Seb will lead singers through 5 brilliant and varied contemporary choral pieces and work on them through exercises in blend, balance, tone, tuning, timing and harmony - all elements that need to be in play to succeed in high-level ensemble singing.
To get the most from this workshop, it is recommended that participants have prior experience of singing in choirs as there will be some focus on fairly advanced ensemble techniques.

Seb Charlesworth
Seb is an experienced ensemble singer himself and as a conductor, works regularly with amateur singers and is praised for his easy-going nature and humour yet demanding the very best from his singers and expecting very high-standards. His passion for music, particularly 20th and 21st century music, and his deep level of understanding of how to get the very best from the singers has seen the groups he works with go from strength to strength.
